Categories: Soap *
Yield: 1 Batch

FATS AND OILS
  90øF to 100øF
LYE SOLUTION
  90øF to 100øF
BOTTOM LAYER

100 1/2 g Sodium hydroxide 9 1/2 oz Distilled water 10 1/2 oz Olive oil 8 oz Coconut oil 7 oz Palm oil 3 ts Ultramarine violet 6 g Grapefruit seed extract, -optional 3 1/2 ts Pure essential oil or -fragrance oil, optional

---------------------------------TOP LAYER--------------------------------- 1 tb + 1 ts annatto seeds 100 1/2 g Sodium hydroxide 9 1/2 oz Distilled water 10 1/2 oz Olive oil 8 oz Coconut oil 7 oz Palm oil 6 g Grapefruit seed extract, -optional 3 1/2 ts Pure essential oil or -fragrance oil, optional

Be certain to stir each layer to a full trace - when the trailings just begin to remain on the surface of the soap. Before beginning the bottom layer, combine the annatto seeds for the top layer with 1/2 c of olive oil and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir to release some color, cover and stir periodically during the soapmaking process.

Add the ultramarine voilet to the hot lye solution of the bottom layer, or immediately after adding the lye solution to the fats and oils. Proceed as usual. For the top layer, weigh the required amount of olive oil; then remove 1/2 c and return to the bottle to compensate for the annatto oil. Stir the annatto oil one final time, strain, and add to the olive oil.
